What is Chipping Services?
On-site chipping turns mountains of brash and brushwood into manageable wood chip in minutes. Whether it's the arisings from a tree job, hedge trimmings, storm waste or general garden clearance, we'll bring a professional chipper, process the lot and either leave the chip for mulch or take it away.
Our chipper takes material up to 6 inches diameter (150mm), reducing the volume of brash by approximately 90%. A morning's worth of tree work brash typically chips in 30–60 minutes.
Available as standalone service (you've felled, you need it cleared) or as standard inclusion with our other tree work.

What Happens If You Leave It
Bonfires for tree waste are illegal in many residential areas, generate complaints and risk fire-service charges. Skips are slow to fill (brash is mostly air) and expensive per cubic metre. Chipping is faster, cleaner and produces a useful product.

Chip Quality & End Uses
Wood chip from broadleaf species (hardwood) makes excellent garden mulch — slow to break down, attractive appearance, suppresses weeds. Chip from conifer species (softwood) breaks down faster and is better suited to woodland paths or rougher mulch applications.
Mixed-species chip from general arisings is fine for footpaths, garden beds, animal bedding and biomass fuel.
Health & Safety With Chippers
Chipper operations are amongst the highest-risk activities in arboriculture. We follow the Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA) safety guides — minimum two operators, exclusion zones marked, no loose clothing, gloves prohibited near feed, and infeed bed kept clear at all times.
