RJ Hutchinson Tree Services was built around a simple idea: most homeowners have been let down at least once by a tree firm — late arrivals, vague quotes, day-rate creep, ruined gardens. We exist to be the opposite of that experience.

We work for homeowners, landlords, estate managers, builders, insurers and councils across Stafford, Lichfield, Tamworth, Burton upon Trent, Cannock, Rugeley, Stone, Uttoxeter, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the surrounding villages. From a single overgrown leylandii in a back garden to multi-day estate woodland contracts, the standard is the same on every job.

We specialise in technical climbing and dismantling, heritage-tree care to BS 3998, ash dieback management, storm response, hedge work and full site clearance. Owner Rhys Hutchinson is ex-British Army — and that discipline (planning, paperwork, kit, time) is the backbone of how every job runs.

We follow the British Standard for tree work — proportional reductions, no topping, no lion-tailing, no cuts that ruin a tree for short-term tidiness.

NPTC-qualified climbers

Every climber holds CS30, CS31, CS38 and CS39 chainsaw and aerial rescue tickets. Certificates available on request.

£5m public liability cover

Full PL and employer's liability. We send the certificate to any customer who asks before the job starts.

Fixed written quotes

Every job is quoted in person, free of charge, and the price is fixed before a saw comes out. No deposits. No surprise extras.

12-month workmanship warranty

If a cut we made fails or causes a problem inside 12 months, we come back and fix it free of charge. Every job, every customer.
